John Roberts for Supreme Court Justice

This is a defining moment in the history of our country. What happens in the Senate to confirm a Supreme Court Justice now will determine how most of us and our children will live the rest of our lives. It may not seem to be a life or death issue, however it speaks huge volumes as to whether we will live as free Americans or continue the slow decline into social chaos.
The Supreme Court of late has made several controversial rulings affecting property rights, the right to live or die and the adequacies of election processes, to name a few. Like the country, the justices are torn between the extremes and are overwhelmed by special interest rhetoric amplified through a strident media. It is almost impossible to be neutral.
The Constitution is the mainstay of justice and as long as people perceive that justice is fair and reasonable harmony and peace can be maintained. Without an impartial interpretation of this document which has withstood the test of time, civil war, and prosperity, we will continue to flail about in endless lawsuits and legislation in efforts to patch the seriously flawed legal system we now live with. The peoples trust in Justice is failing.
John G. Roberts Jr. is a candidate with excellent credentials and he will go a long way to restoring credibility to the court. He deserves the support of all the people. Partisan politics, dislike for George Bush and special interests must step aside and allow his confirmation to proceed with dignity. We, each of us, must do our part and show confidence in the wisdom of the Constitution.
